Museums have found many ways to connect with their communities around environmental concerns – tackling subjects as diverse as resource use and waste, energy, local planning,  air pollution and more.  Building these connections has the potential to contribute to the wellbeing and resilience as well as the environmental sustainability of both museums and their communities.

This workshop offers the chance to hear practical examples and experiences from Happy Museum’s community of practice including Museums Northumberland, Derby Museums and Manchester University Museum and to explore ideas to take back to your own work context.

The workshop includes an opportunity to see the former colliery site transformed by the installations in Coal Forest inspired our ongoing & complex relationship with coal.

Timings – 10.30 refreshments for 11.00 start –  15.30 close

A small charge of £15 (including VAT) which includes tea/coffee and a light lunch will be payable on the day
